Snow White On Ice

I think that the performance of Snow White On Ice, performed by the world famous Russians Ice Stars, is as popular as Disney's film Frozen.  I even saw a little girl dressed as Disney's Snow White.

Dramalab's Possible Performance at December

We are busy back at Dramalab.  We have one or two ideas for December.  The first could be Charles Dicken's The Christmas Carol, or the infamous The Addams Family

I'm sure that we know the story of how Scrooge redeems himself on the night before Christmas after meeting the ghost of his partner, Jacob Marley, before the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.  Without doubt one of Dickens' best known books; and one of the best Christmas stories ever written with the Spirit of Christmas is its heart.

The Addams Family is based on the cartoons drawn by American cartoonist Charles Addams.  The theme tune from the 60's is perhaps one of the best known theme tunes ever heard (I struggle to get the tune out of my head sometimes).  If you were to move next door to the Addams family, you must be as mad as the family, just watch out for the butler Lurch, who resembles Frankenstein's Monster dressed in a suit without the metal bolt on the sides of his neck.

Nothing has been confirmed as yet, but will be confirmed closer to the middle of the year, hopefully about the Summer Holidays.

Panto at Christmas - Peter Pan

Peter Pan - the boy who never  grew ups - will be flying to Eden Court's Empire Theatre this December and early January.

I'm sure that we known the story with thanks from the Disney 1953 film with Bobby Driscoll as the Peter, Kathryn Beaumont as Wendy, Hans Conried as the evil Captain Hook and Bill Thompson as Hook's long suffering assistant Mr Smee.

Wendy Darling tells her brothers, John and Michael, stories of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell (a pixie fairy) and Peter's gang, the Lost Boys.  When Peter Pan flies into their room at night, the Darling family follows Peter to Neverland and have their greatest adventures with Peter and the Lost Boys.  Meanwhile, Captain Hook is after revenge on Peter for cutting off his left hand and feeding it to a ticking crocodile, who follows Hook for the rest of him.  Just what is Hook up to and can Peter Pan stop?

The first night will be the 8th of December and will run 10th of January (except for Christmas Day, New Year's Day and the 7th of January).  I hope that you enjoy everyone's favourite boy.

The Hobbit - The Battle of Five Armies - Review

I saw the final film of a fantastic film trilogy on the 31st of December.  It's hard to believe that the story is finished.  Peter Jackson has done full justice to Tolkien's work and world of Middle-Earth as everyone in the film reaches their journey's end when Smaug the dragon is killed and everyone wants a share of the treasure in the depths of Erebor, a Dwarf kingdom, but armies of goblins are planning to take the kingdom under the Lonely Mountain in service of Sauron, a Dark Lord who was defeated many years ago.

By using Tolkien's notes and other works, Peter Jackson has used his skills to bring The Hobbit in line with The Lord of the Rings as having Ian Holm portraying older Bilbo Baggins at the edge after Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins returns home to Bag End at the end of the film.

Some people say that the battle was too long, but I don't mind.  I think that its a great film and a good end for the film films that tells how Bilbo found the One Ring and how The Lord of the Rings came about on Frodo Baggins.
