30th Eden Court Blog - The Railway Children Encore steams to Eden Court

E Nesbit's best loved story The Railway Children is set steam onto Eden Court's stage next month for one afternoon, the 28th of March at 2pm.

The story follows three children, Roberta, Phyllis and Peter as their father first leaves their London home, then they leave London with their mother to live in the Yorkshire countryside, in a cottage called the Three Chimneys, right beside a railway line.  As a train goes by, they wave to an old gentleman, who waves back at them.  Soon, the three children makes new friends in the countryside and at the railway station and have many adventures, such as saving a train from an accident and helping first a Russian find his family then a local boy who hurts his leg while running, all of this before their father returns to them after Roberta discovers a terrible secret.
