Sweeney Todd and Maria Marten

From the drama group that has brought Fawlty Towers and 'Allo 'Allo to the stage, comes two melodramas.

The first is the best known: Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, where more people go and are never seen from again and Mrs Lovart's Pie Shop business is booming.  The police are as clueless to what has happened to the missing people, a poor family seeks employment, a lady worries for her missing loved-one and what will a returning sailor find when he offers to bake for Mrs Lovart?

The second is called Maria Marten, a play based on a true story set in Suffolk 1827, where the villain plots to become richer and more devious, the gypsies plot for revenge, ghosts haunt dreams, a young maiden loses her happiness and her family seek justice.
